Collection: Canadian
On July 1, 1867, with passage of the British North America Act, the Dominion of Canada was officially established as a self-governing entity within the British Empire. This merged together the colonies of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario. Further areas were added for the rest of the nineteenth century.
As such the majority Canadian silver from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries will come from the eastern side of Canada. Here, there were a number of makers in cities such as Toronto, Montreal and St. John.
We have one of the largest inventories of nineteenth century Canadian silver available, so please let us know if you are looking for any maker in particular.
