Bright-cut decoration was originally designed to sparkle in candle-light, this spoon has a classic provincial design to it, with the simple bright-cut and the little shoulders on the base of the handle. This example was made in Exeter by Richard Ferris in 1791. A nice period monogram of "J.F". It is in very condition, with just some slight bowl wear.
Clearly hallmarked.
It measures 21cm long and weighs 54 grams.
