A lovely mid-victorian English sterling salver. Decorated with neo-classical revival edging and engraving and set on three scroll feet. It was made in London in 1854 by George Angell & Co. It has a nice contemporary dedication:
Presented
to
Alderman Walker Clark
by the Members of the
Manchester Caledonian Society
in acknowledgment of his gratuitous services
as
Secretary
for the last
Twenty Years
1st April 1858
In great overall condition, the dedication is a little rubbed.
Clearly hallmarked.
It measures approximately 35cm in diameter and weighs 1284 grams.
