There were a lot of English silversmiths running workshops in Calcutta. This little mug (probably a Christening mug) was made by the partnership of Pittar and Co (who were succeeded by Charles, Nephew and Co). The partnership was working between 1825 and 1848. It has a nice lobed shape with embossed decoration.
Clearly stamped on the base.
It measures just under 8.5cm high and weighs 164 grams.
