A lovely piece of Irish sterling silver, this soup ladle is in the Celtic point pattern (found generally in Irish or Scottish silver). It was made in Dublin in 1790 by John Shiels. It has bright-cut decoration, a shell bowl and a nice period crest. It is in good overall condition, it does have a dimple or two to the bowl.

Clearly hallmarked.

It measures approx 35.5cm long and weighs 175 grams.
